CONAN

YOUNG HEROES EDITION

The Mystery of the Whispering Cave

In the rugged mountains of Cimmeria, young Conan stood at the entrance of a cave that seemed to breathe. The wind whistled through the narrow rocks, making a sound like a soft whisper. Most children in the village were afraid of the Whispering Cave, but Conan was different.

He carried a wooden practice sword and a heart full of courage. "There is no such thing as ghosts," Conan told himself, stepping into the cool darkness. As he walked deeper, the whispers grew louder. They sounded like someone calling for help.

"A hero does not run from the unknown; a hero brings light to the shadows."

Conan reached a large chamber where the sunlight peeked through a hole in the ceiling. There, he found the source of the whispers. It wasn't a ghost at all! A small mountain goat had gotten its hoof stuck between two smooth stones. Every time the wind blew through the hole above, it echoed the goat's soft bleats, making them sound like whispers.

With a gentle hand and a strong pull, Conan moved the stones. The goat jumped up, licked Conan's hand in thanks, and skipped out of the cave. Conan smiled. He hadn't fought a dragon or found gold, but he had solved the mystery and saved a friend. And in Cimmeria, that made him the greatest hero of the day.
